Chapter 213: I’m Not Planning To Survive This Apocalypse

Chapter 213: I’m Not Planning To Survive This Apocalypse

"Haah…hah…huff!" The teenager wheezed, out of breath, noticing that his hands were trembling while his palms were red. The number of Grassmen that appeared this time was four times the previous times.

His eyes were a bit cloudy while his head felt tipsy, a sign that he had overexerted himself until exhaustion had long since kicked in. His chest heaved up and down as he wiped the sweat that tried to cover his eyes, turning around to see a calm figure of Compass Carburettor.

Having not even broken a sweat, sporting at most a couple of tears on his clothes, calmly gazing at the horizon while rotating his sore wrist, Compass Carburettor looked like he was used to such situations.

Seeing such a scene, the teenager blurted out unconsciously, "How?"

"How what?" Compass Carburettor turned around, asking.

"How are you fine even after such a fierce battle?" Saying so, the teenager couldn\'t help but look at the bodies that had piled nearby. All of them had been destroyed by Compass Carburettor, headless, forming a pile with their twitching bodies.

"That\'s a secret," He gently raised his index hand, placing it above his mouth to give a calm smile.

Upon seeing the sun setting, Compass Carburettor approached the leader, saying, "I heard from the guy that you are planning to set fire on the grass and make a path towards the hill?"

"Yeah, that\'s the plan." The leader nodded, frowning immediately, "But, we have no idea if it\'ll work properly."

"We have at most an hour left for the sun to set." Compass Carburettor said in a hurry, "If what I suspect isn\'t a false alarm, then the grass gets more active during the night. So, we have to hurry."

He then waved his arm, saying, "Making molotov cocktails is the best. Once done, give them to me. I can throw them far enough. If the size of the container is appropriate enough, then I should be able to throw them nearer to the foot of the hill."

"You can throw them that far?" The leader was surprised.

"If I use my ability, then I can." Compass Carburettor nodded.

"Then, let\'s get right into it." The leader said as he riled up everyone that was hiding within the cars, relaying the plan to them. As they had been discussing the same all along, it was easy to execute.

With so many cars around, they managed to obtain enough containers, sacrificing the petrol from all the smaller cars. They planned to cross the distance of 200 metres in the shortest possible duration. And, travelling over by car was the best plan.

Moreover, if they planned to stay at the hill, having enough necessities was a must. With that, everyone began to cooperate, transferring all necessities into larger SUVs. Some trucks took priority.

Even though a truck was slow, considering its size, it was able to bring most people. Moreover, its height and weight ensured that even if the grass began to grow once the fire died down, it would still be able to reach the hill.

Once those within the cars began to come out, Compass Carburettor was surprised. For with a sheer estimate, there were at least 2000 people around. \'Why the hell were most of them hiding within?\'

He was surprised, also slightly angry upon finding quite a few able-bodied men coming out from the cars. It was apparent that they didn\'t wish to risk their lives first.

\'These selfish pricks!\' Compass Carburettor frowned but didn\'t do anything else. It wasn\'t his intention to settle with the people here. So, all their trouble was theirs alone.

He didn\'t come here to survive the apocalypse but to hunt Systems and strengthen himself. Moreover, getting to rescue Grisha took priority in response to wasting time.

He wasn\'t feeling guilty or any other feelings. No matter what he felt, he repressed them, calmly watching everyone begin preparations. Suddenly, his attention was grabbed by a couple of angry noises.

It was between the leader and a man dressed in a dark trench coat. The other man had slick hair and was arguing about the position of his car in the escape order.

Upon seeing that the surroundings were getting dark, Compass Carburettor arrived before the arguing duo, tapping the man wearing the dark trench coat.

"What?" The man turned around, shrugging his shoulder as he clearly didn\'t like someone touching his shoulder.

Bam!

"We don\'t have time to waste. Let\'s continue." Compass Carburettor dusted his hand, watching the unconscious man on the floor, "Leave him be."

He then nodded at the leader, seeing him nod in return. The one that acted as a leader of this group was charismatic, responsible, and brave enough in such a situation. So, he didn\'t say anything against Compass Carburettor\'s intimidation tactics. Rather, he was glad that the parasite had been shushed.

Such a character would only eat away at their minds even after arriving at the hill. They were useless, contributed nothing and disrupted the working atmosphere.

After seeing Compass Carburettor knock out someone unconscious and command the guy to be abandoned, those that were intending to protest restrained themselves. Quite a lot of them had seen him in action before, so they were afraid of him.

Twenty minutes later, the leader pushed a bunch of trolleys towards him, one filled to the brim with bottles. All the SUVs that had been selected were on the ignition, with the passengers all on board, filling every car to the brim with people and items.

Standing next to Compass Carburettor now were two people: the leader and the teenager. Both held a lighter in their hands, ready to light the cloth pieces stuffed into each bottle and hand them over to him.

All the petrol from the smaller cars had been siphoned out and used to make as many molotov cocktails as possible. They didn\'t just use bottles but any container that could be used to carry the petrol. The more throwable ones would be used to throw towards the hill while the bigger ones would be thrown closer.

The rest of the petrol was used to fill the SUVs to the brim, intended for later use.

"Ready?" The leader asked while looking at Compass Carburettor.

"Yes," Compass Carburettor nodded, grabbing hold of a large can that was lighted.

"Let\'s begin."
