The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 163

The old steward didn’t go into detail but it had something to do with the prime ministers clamoring to push the blame for the attacks to the Bloodgarde.

It’s a good thing they weren’t here otherwise they would notice his complexion wasn’t right. He was in such a terrible mood that even Old Lu didn’t dare keep him for long.

Zi Han slumped face down on his bed as he grumbled under his pillow. He was upset, annoyed, and embarrassed. Why? It was because of the conversation he had with Yi Chen.

Growing up he learnt to repress his own feelings, that’s because his mother had so much on her shoulders and he didn’t want to burden her with anything.

His mother would always find out on her own and talk to him about it. But even now he still had that bad habit. Unless it was something he couldn’t solve himself he wouldn’t say anything.

He never thought like his family Yi Chen would also notice this and confront him about it. Why couldn’t they be friends that hang out together and not interfere in each other’s personal lives?

Why couldn’t Yi Chen be like Shorty or Shaun? They hung out, and had fun but never discuss anything too personal. Wasn’t it good that way?

Zi Han sighed as he sat up and took out Mr. Twiggles. Rubbing its soft fin he whispered, “I guess he won’t want to play with me anymore, right?”

.....

Mr. Twiggles...

If that shark plushy was alive like toy story toys it would realize that it was brought home to be a therapy plushy just like a therapy dog.

“Maybe it’s for the best...,” he said pausing for a long time before continuing, “When people involve emotions it becomes mentally exhausting. Don’t you think so?”

Mr. Twiggles...

It’s safe to say Zi Han was having a conversation with himself at this point. He carried Mr. Twiggles into the walk-in closet and continued ranting while looking for clothes.

“Well, he did save me a couple of times..... but still... let’s not talk about it. It’s too depressing.”

This gloomy atmosphere hovered above his head for an entire night. For hours he was sitting at his desk studying hard. This was the only way he could get out of his head.

Yi Chen had no idea that Zi Han was planning to break up with him..... okay fine, not break up but break up their friendship. He only felt something was very wrong the next day.

The cheerful Zi Han who always glanced over in his direction and smiled at him was icing him out like they were having a cold war.

Unlike Zi Han who was good with words, Yi Chen was very bad at it. He wasn’t good at coaxing people and writing a message was like asking for half his life.

Several times during the day he tried to message him but after typing and erasing so many times he finally gave up. Since they had to focus on studying Yi Chen decided to put the matter aside and focus on his work.

He planned on talking to Zi Han about it after training but who would have thought Zi Han wouldn’t even show up?

Yi Chen had even bought his favorite flavored water that he drank each time after training but the person didn’t show up. Feeling a little frustrated he made a video call request but after two rings his call was directly cut off.

Yi Chen raked his fingers through his hair as if debating what to say next. With a sigh, he called Li Ran and after a single ring, the video call was answered.

Li Ran appeared to be in the fashion district with his eldest sister when he answered the call. “What’s up?” He asked while sitting down on the couch near the changing rooms.

“My little disciple ran off to god knows where. Can you find him for me?” asked Yi Chen trying to calm himself down.

Li Ran bit his bottom lip with a thoughtful expression before replying, “I will use his light brain to find him. Just give me a minute.”

“Thanks....,” replied Yi Chen as he rubbed the back of his neck with his stray strands of hair hanging loose on his forehead. What he didn’t realize was that he had attracted a vulture.

From behind Li Ran, a petite girl with long hair walked out of the changing room. She was about to ask Li Ran what he thought when she caught the side profile of her future husband rubbing the back of his neck with his head lowered.

Drooling over his handsome face she gulped while tiptoeing over there slowly. During a hunt, the lioness hides in the tall grass making sure to move slowly not to scare the prey. She abided by this rule and crouched down behind the couch while peeking at the video call.

Yi Chen who had been patiently waiting for a response heard a message prompt on his light brain thus he opened it. Zi Han had sent him a message and it read:

HandsomeHan: I am not coming for training today.

HandsomeHan: I have something to do.

Yi Chen was slightly annoyed. That’s because there was no explanation. It was a simple, “I am not coming,” and that was it.

His patience wearing thin he raised his head to ask Li Ran how long it would take but before he could utter a single word he saw a pair of green eyes watching him from behind the couch.

Having been noticed Li Ran’s sister didn’t bother hiding. She walked around the couch before sitting next to her brother with a smitten look on her face.

“Gege,” she said and Li Ran shoved her face away while apologizing,

“I am so sorry for her. She can’t help herself.”

“Li Ran!” she spoke through gritted teeth while pushing away his hand and reaching to yank his hair.

“I sent it to you. Ow.... shit, I am going to tell mum,” he said before the video call was cut short.

Yi Chen wanted to go rescue him but when he saw Zi Han’s location his heart sank. Zi Han wasn’t at home but a hotel, with whom.... doing what exactly?

It seemed the concept that hotels equals mostly sex was carried forth for thousands of generations. Most people in the federation truly believed so as well.
